Fairlight Bowls Club

About Our Club

Fairlight Bowls Club is situated approximately two miles  east of Hastings, East Sussex.  The Club nestles at the bottom of the picturesque Firehills in Fairlight village and overlooks spectacular sea views from Rye Bay to Dover and is probably one of the finest bowling aspects in Sussex.

The Club has a current mixed membership of  about fifty playing members and some forty social members.  We are always pleased to welcome new members whether experienced or new to the game and our more experienced members are always willing to provide tuition if required.

Our fixture list includes over forty friendly games and twenty League matches, all played on a reciprocal basis where half of each are played at home or away.  Club competitions are an integral part of our Club programme with individuals playing for final positions towards the end of the season.

We have a very active social programme throughout the season which includes "fun" bowling, barbecues, cream teas, and Hove Greyhound Racing. We also hold coffee mornings in the Village Hall. At the beginning of July we hold an Open Tournament, where up to 96 players in 24 teams play each other. The income from the tournament enables us to donate a handsome cheque to a designated Charity. In the past we have supported "Help for Heroes", Prostate Research, Cancer Research, Myeloma UK and St. Michaels Hospice.

New facilities were officially opened for the start of the 2013/14 season; providing facilities for the disabled, a well-fitted kitchen and plenty of room for social events and match teas.  We also have a designated enclosed viewing area and visitors' changing areas.
