SOCIAL EVENTS

Hi Everyone!

Where has the time gone?  In April it was questionable whether the Club would be able to complete its social calendar but as Covid restrictions are being eased we are now able to announce the following events:

Lads and Lassies – Sunday 7th August:  If you wish to join in this fun competition the list is on the web site for you to enter your name.  There will be a cream tea with Prosecco after the bowls (at £5 per head) plus a raffle and possibly a “spider”.

FBC’s Charity Day – Monday 30th August:  This was due to take place on 27 June but was cancelled because of bad weather.  Watch out for the poster and list for names which will be posted on the website giving further details.

Competition Finals – Weekend of 18th and 19th September:  The competitions are almost complete.  As usual lunch will be served on both days.  I hope many of you are able to attend to lend support to the finalists.

Closing of the Green – Saturday 25th September:  The President v. The Chairman match commencing at 2.00pm will close the season on this day.

Saturday 9th October at 7.00pm in Fairlight Village Hall: This was to be the “helpers’ evening” but as it has not been possible to book a presentation lunch the presentation of the trophies to the winners of the competitions will take place during the evening.  No charge for food, but there will be a bar and a raffle.

Greyhound Racing – 6th October:  This is always a popular event.  A list for names will be posted but if you want further information, please contact Penny Kenward or Roger Greer.

Coffee Morning – Saturday 6th November:  We haven’t had one of these for a while!  As usual this will take place in the Fairlight Village Hall from 10.00am to 12noon.  Coffee and cake (and may be bacon rolls) will be served.  There will be a box at the clubhouse for raffle donations.  Donations on the day for the cake stall would be very much appreciated.  I take this opportunity to ask if anyone has any fresh ideas for a stall or competition for the coffee morning, please contact a committee member.

Lots to look forward to.  Again, I would ask for any ideas for a social occasion from any of you.

If you do want to put forward a suggestion but worry that you would not be able to organise such an event on your own, do not worry, you will have plenty of support from the Committee and club members organising such an event.
