Fairlight Bowls Club 2019
Fairlight Bowls Club  2019

OPEN TOURNAMENT 2019

SUNDAY 30th  JUNE 2019             COMMENCING 09.30

This Years Charity will be "The Demelza  Hospice Care for Children"

Every year, usually towards the end of June, Fairlight Bowls Club holds an Open Tournament when the Club invites teams from the South to compete in this charitable event.  There are up to  twenty-four participating teams who are drawn to play against each other over two sessions during the day.

For the benefit of our visitors you can find directions to our club by selecting the "directions" button above.  It is anticipated that the adjoining playing field will act as an overflow car park.  Please follow the directions of the Marshal if there is one present.

The dress code is Club shirts above the waist and whites below the waist.

All teams will be allocated a section.  Please arrive 15-20 minutes before the start of your section.  The winning team of the Tournament will be presented with a trophy; each member of the team will receive £10.00 and a bottle of wine.  The runners up will each receive £5.00.

We cater for a minimum of one hundred lunches and offer coffee, tea and cakes during the day.

A Spider charity spot will take place between sessions; the prize will be a bottle of whiskey and there will be a raffle table operating throughout the sessions with an assortment of prizes, plus various side stalls.  There will also be the main raffle event - all to raise money for the Captain's chosen charity.

Whilst this is a competitive day it is also a very enjoyable meeting of old adversaries with plenty of banter and catching up with local and specific bowling news, usually on a very warm and sunny day.

For entries please contact our Club Captain, Alex Weiss, on

alexanderweiss@btinternet.com or telephone Alex on 01424 224909
